OUR ITINERARY:
Get ready for a unique experience in Três Picos State Park! The Valley of the Gods – Frades Waterfall Traverse is one of the most stunning routes for anyone seeking immersion in nature and breathtaking scenery.
The route links the Valley of the Gods, in Salinas, to Frades Waterfall (Cachoeira dos Frades) in Teresópolis, along well-preserved trails, Atlantic Forest and viewpoints with panoramic views of the region's iconic mountains.
The traverse is about 20 km long, but 11 km are covered with Watrip Turismo's transport and 9 km on foot. Along the way, our group is accompanied by accredited guides, ensuring safety, nature interpretation and a memorable journey.
SCHEDULE:
🕗 time to be agreed – meet at the starting point and transfer to Três Picos
🚶♂️ Easy walk on clear trail sections, high-altitude grasslands and panoramic viewpoints
🌿 Well-placed stops for rest, water and taking in the scenery
🥪 A hearty snack break on the trail
🕓 Arrival at Frades Waterfall and return to the meeting point by private transport
WHAT TO BRING:
✔ A comfortable, sturdy backpack
✔ Water and energy snacks
✔ Hiking shoes or boots suitable for uneven ground
✔ Light, comfortable clothing + a windbreaker
✔ A hat or cap and sunglasses
✔ Sunscreen and insect repellent
✔ A camera or phone for photos
✔ A trash bag (we practice minimum-impact principles)
