About the activity
Caledônia Peak, at 2,257 meters in Três Picos State Park, is the best place near Nova Friburgo to look for the high-altitude birds of the Serra do Mar.
The birding trail is about 2.5 km long. It starts among bamboo and low trees, enters denser montane forest and reaches the grasslands near the summit. We walk slowly, stop often and adjust the plan to the birds of the day.
