Rising an impressive 2,257 meters, Caledônia Peak is one of the highest mountains in the state of Rio de Janeiro and a highlight of Nova Friburgo. The mountain is part of Três Picos State Park and offers incredible panoramic views of the Serra dos Órgãos, Guanabara Bay and, on clear days, even the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The name “Caledônia” was given by the British explorer James Cook, inspired by the ancient Roman name for the land that is now Scotland, reflecting the beauty and grandeur of the place. The region is rich in biodiversity, with a wide range of plants and animals, including endemic and rare species.
